Morning Stretches for a Better Day: Simple Exercises to Start Your Morning Off Right

Stretching has been an integral part of my life since last year and I hope you integrate it as your daily activity

I started taking my health seriously last year. While I lifted weights and did intense cardio, I believe the biggest difference that bought me a huge relief was stretching. Here are 5 stretches that I do everyday for different parts of my body. This is not health advice but something that has worked for me. Please make sure that exercises don't do any harm to you —

  1. Hamstring stretch: Sit on the floor with your legs stretched out in front of you. Reach forward and try to touch your toes. Hold for 20–30 seconds, then release. Repeat 3–4 times.
  2. Shoulder stretch: Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart. Reach your right arm across your chest and hold it with your left hand. Hold for 20–30 seconds, then switch sides. Repeat 3–4 times.
  3. Hip flexor stretch: Kneel on one knee with your other foot planted in front of you. Lean forward into your front knee, keeping your back straight. Hold for 20–30 seconds, then switch sides. Repeat 3–4 times.
  4. Quad stretch: Stand with your feet hip-width apart. Bend your right knee and bring your heel towards your butt. Reach back with your right hand and hold…
