Can You Live A Fulfilling Life Without Social Media?

This was a question I asked myself around a similar time last year

Amidst spending hours every day viewing stories of people and sharing a snippet of my life to see who watches my content, the line between sharing content because I wanted to vs sharing it to seek validation became increasingly blurred.

And so I did one small thing —

I deleted the Instagram app from my phone (not my account) just for a month.

I now was no longer creating content for views/shares. And this took away such a huge burden. A month turned into 6 months. And then just a couple of weeks back I celebrated 1 year of no Instagram.

After the first few months, I found myself having a couple of extra hours a day that back then was spent viewing stories of people and posts about things I never cared about.

Here’s what I did with all my free time last year -

• I started dancing sensual Bachata at the start of this year. Went to 5 amazing dance festivals in Europe. And recently won the best lead dancer award at a festival in my city (Ahmedabad) in India. The judges were the world’s top dancers — @cornelrithika_official .
